#HPC6280 SOFTWARE UPGRADE#
Surely there must be a software upgrade that lets this printer run on Windows. The installation starts but then I get a message telling me my operating system is not supported - in fact, nothing after Windows 2000. No fax didn't really make or break the deal, though it would have been nice. I'm trying to instal and run an HP Photosmart C6280 printer in Windows 10 64-bit. if you can pick one up for under $100 (usd), i say go for it. I've only had the printer for a month or so, and i don't do a whole lot of printing, so i can't speak for ink usage or longevity of the printer. the software for network connection is goofy, as is all hp software (could be a windows issue, as most problems w/ pc's is that they run a microsoft os). it's not the best of scans, but i've seen a lot worse.

Alternatively, you can connect the printer to the computer and try installing the drivers through Windows. As you have mentioned that the computer is running Windows 10 S, one of the things you can try is to visit the HP website and see if there are any Windows 10 S drivers available for the Printer. Dampen a clean, lint-free cloth or paper (coffee filters work best) with distilled water and wipe the electrical contact squares from the bottom to the top. Lift it until it pulls up and lift the printhead out of the printer.
You will be able to connect the printer to a network and print across devices. There is a latch handle on the side of the print carriage.
